NIHR seeks six new Review Panel public members

The NIHR has begun recruiting for six new public Review Panel members to help them assess plans for patient and public involvement (PPI) within researcher's proposals. The Review Panel openings relate specifically to the NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowships which support outstanding individuals to become the health research leaders of the future.

The Review Panel members will be expected to act as PPI advisers. The role will include reviewing, scoring and providing feedback to all shortlisted Fellowships applicants who attend for interview on their plans for public involvement in their research proposals. The perspective that the PPI advisers will bring to the selection process will be informed by their knowledge and experience of patient and public involvement in research as a patient, service user or member of the public.

The vacancies are an excellent opportunity for patients or members of the public to help shape research and the way that it involves them.
