Theme Lead for Improving Public Health Speaks at Prestigious Brazil Conference
Jennie Popay, Theme Leader for Improving Public Health and Director of Engagement at CLAHRC NWC, has been speaking at the 22nd International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) World Conference in Brazil.
The aim of the event is to maintain a global forum where researchers, practitioners and policy makers involved in and concerned about the promotion of health and equity will share and discuss new knowledge, innovations in practice and policy and cutting edge experience.
With its main theme being the "Urban changes to local differences, valuing the emerging voices”, Professor Popay took to the podium and focused her speech on urban occupations, stressing that urban spaces, however common they are, are not simple spaces that exist only to exist, but can have an empowering potential to promote health and equity.
