Governance (CLAHRC NWC Steering Board)
NHS Liverpool Clinical Commisioning Group (LCCG) is our host organisation and the Steering Board is accountable to LCCG and Partners.
The Board meets quarterly and is responsible for strategic direction and governance of the CLAHRC NWC, overseeing the allocation of resources to the Themes, monitoring the health inequality outcomes of the CLAHRC NWC and establishing performance measures.

Profile of Chair of the Board
Bill Sang
Bill has had a varied career in the NHS in England, retiring in 2004 from the role of Chief Executive of Cumbria and Lancashire Workforce Development Confederation, which managed over £70m of education and training contracts with Universities and Colleges.
Bill also served on national committees and advisory groups influencing national policy on both healthcare education and workforce supply.
Prior to this, Bill was, for ten years, Chief Executive of Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Trust, a major teaching hospital with a national reputation for excellence. Before working in the acute sector he led Salford’s Mental Health services.
After his retirement, Bill worked as a healthcare consultant with Strategic Health Authorities in the North West and with national bodies including PMETB, General Medical Council and Skills for Health.
Bill has an honorary degree from the University of Salford and is an honorary companion of the University of Manchester.
